A Little About Us

How did you meet?
We met playing volleyball in Connecticut with our company's athletic club.

Who made the first move?
We were friends for about a year until we went to a concert together, and James made his move.

What first attracted you to each other?
Amy: I was first attracted to his athleticism and goofiness. He is always up for a good laugh!
James: Amy is a hot blonde who can throw a football with a tight spiral about 40 yards - that's attractive.  Our enjoyment of sports is very compatible and our sense of humor as well.

What is your favorite memory with each other?
Amy: My favorite memory with James was my first trip with him and his parents to Siesta Key, Florida. I was blown away by how beautiful the beaches were! We kayaked, golfed, and even went to Universal Studios where we rode on Hagrid's motorbike ride at Harry Potter world. That is a vacation I will never forget :)
James: My favorite memory with Amy is spending time on vacation at Siesta Key with her.  We love chilling on the beach with a margarita soaking up some sun, going for runs, playing tennis and golf, going fishing, snorkeling, kayaking and eating great seafood.  Those trips we've made are the best times of my life.

What is your favorite way of spending time together?
Amy: I love spending time with James in our back yard gardening and playing with our dog, Scooter.
James: My favorite way of spending time with Amy is playing volleyball with her.  Amy is always game for a good adventure too and we've spent some great time hiking, camping, and snowboarding since we've moved to Colorado.

How did you get engaged?
Amy flew into Albany on Christmas Eve 2022 to visit my family and me for Christmas.  We had a party with family over to celebrate and had a great night.  Once the party winded down and it was just the two of us sitting by a roaring fire and a lit Christmas tree, I told Amy I had a early Christmas gift for her.  She reached into the tree for a small package I had hid there for her.  Once she had begun opening it, I got down on one knee and told her I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her.  She said yes!  We then celebrated by popping some champagne with my parents to cap off the night.

Why did you decide on a destination wedding?
We love adventures and wanted our friends and family to join us on our most special adventure yet!
